Weekly Update March 14-18, 2016

Congratulations to our girls grade 3/4 floor hockey team who played a fantastic tournament in Devon this past weekend!

This is our last full week of school before Spring Break!

Monday: Both boys floor hockey teams have games today at East Elementary. They will be leaving the school between 2:15-2:30 pm and parents are asked to pick up their kids at East Elementary between 4-4:30 pm. Good luck, boys!

Wednesday: In the morning we will be hosting a Kindergarten Open House from 9 am to 11:30 am. This is a chance for our new kinders and their parents to see what's to come in Kindergarten and also to ask the teacher any questions you might have. A Parent Information Night will follow in August, just before school starts.

The students will be participating in their Family Groups this afternoon. It sounds like there will be some holiday-themed fun this time around!

Thursday: Today is St. Patrick's Day! We are challenging our students to not only WEAR green but to EAT green as well! Each student that brings in 2 green snacks is eligible to participate in the classroom's Green Challenge. The class with the highest percentage of participants will win a prize!

The grade 6 students have also planned an Easter Egg Toss for this afternoon at 2 pm. Students who would like to participate must have a partner and each pair must have their own egg. Students will be tossing the egg back and forth. With every successful toss and the sound of the whistle, the students will take a step back. The winner of the toss will win the Golden Egg Carton!

Lastly, today is Hot Lunch from Dairy Queen for those that ordered.

Have a great week, everyone!

Weekly Update March 7-11, 2016

This week is a pretty quiet week here at Willow Park!

Wednesday: Tonight is our March Family Event. This evening from 6:30-7:30 pm, we are inviting all Willow Park families to meet us at the Leduc Public Library. There will be reading, games, prizes and friends - a guaranteed fun night!

Amanda Ulrickson from the City of Leduc's FCSS will be visiting with us for the evening. Your children have probably met her a few times by now and heard a lot about her at assemblies. Feel free to introduce yourself! The FCSS is a great place to start if you would like to find some help for your child(ren) or your family. They can offer support and provide information on services, programs, initiatives, and resources available within the community.

We look forward to seeing everyone!
